Design, screen, and OS

The Google Pixel and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro both come in a circular shape, but the Apple Watch Ultra comes in a squarish shape. But if you look a little closer, there’s a lot more difference than this.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. It has the smallest screen size compared to both the ultra and pixel watch.

The Apple Watch Ultra features a 1.92-inch Retina display and a screen resolution of 502 x 410 pixels, while the Google Pixel features a 1.6-inch AMOLED display.

In terms of display size, the Apple Watch takes the lead here.

The Ultra and 5 Pro offer sapphire crystal glass protection, and Gorilla Glass 5 on the Pixel Watch. No big updates here in terms of durability.

If we talk about the crown, the Ultra and the Pixel both have a rotational crown, but the Watch 5 Pro has two buttons on the side.

The Ultra offers 2000 nits of brightness, which is 1000 X brighter than both the Watch 5 Pro and Pixel Watch, but you can easily see all three watches even in the direct sunlight.

You get watchOS 9.0 on the Apple Watch Ultra and Android Wear OS 4 on the Samsung Watch 5 Pro, while the Pixel Watch uses Wear OS 3.5.

The Ultra feels smoother than both the 5 Pro and Pixel watches.

Health and fitness

In terms of health and fitness tracking, the Apple Watch Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro are very similar.

They both come with features like ECG, SpO2, sleep tracking, VO2 max, and fall detection.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has body composition tracking, which is not available on the Apple Watch Ultra.

They both also have a skin temperature sensor that can help you detect when your body temperature rises and which activities lead to it, which the Google Pixel does not have.

Google Pixel falls behind in terms of advanced health features like ECG or blood pressure monitoring, but it does have SpO2, sleep tracking, and fitness tracking.

You can also track your medications on the Apple Watch Ultra by just adding them to the app. Which you can’t do on both the Pixel and the watch 5 Pro.

The Apple Watch can also track respiratory rate, which is used to count the number of breaths you take in a minute. It is an important health metric because it can be used to assess your breathing health and detect respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.

Again, both the Pixel and the Watch 5 Pro do not have this feature.

So I think when it comes to advanced health features, the Apple Watch Ultra takes a big lead here, followed by the Samsung Watch 5 Pro, and finally the Google Pixel Watch, which has the fewest features compared to both.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has a huge 590 mAh battery that it says should deliver a typical usage time of up to 80 hours, which is just over 3 days. It also quotes 20 hours of GPS battery life.

The Watch 5 Pro can get to that 80 hours, but it does entirely depend on the features you’re putting to use, as ever.

The ultra comes with a slightly small battery with a capacity but can only last up to 18 hours, which is no way near the 5 Pro.

The Pixel comes with a 294 mAh battery that can last up to 24 hours, which is still better than the Ultra.

So the Watch 5 Pro takes a big lead here in terms of battery life.

In terms of connectivity, the Ultra and 5 Pro are identical; both have Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0. They also come with LTE and 5G support. They also have NFC payment support through their dedicated apps.

The Pixel Watch does have all the features but lacks cellular connectivity, which is a huge issue in my opinion.

If someone doesn’t want cellular connectivity, then there is no major difference.

The Apple Watch Ultra is the most expensive watch on the list, and you know why. It also has the most advanced features, premium quality, and material. The Watch Ultra comes with a price tag of $1,080. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro on the other hand, is priced at $540 with its awesome features.

Then, at last, the Google Pixel Watch comes with a price tag of $336, which is the cheapest watch in this list. The Apple Watch does offer the best features, so I think the price is good.

If I had to choose between these three, I think you all would have guessed it, right? I’ll go with the Apple Watch Ultra because the features on it are unmatched.

With the advanced health features, the look, the responsiveness, and the premium feel, I think Apple wins by a big margin.
